As much as it's possible, Eureka has a healthy sense of competition with nearby Branson, Mo. Many visitors swing through one en route to the other. I had several conversations with locals that started with "Well, we don't have the glitz of Branson..."

I agree with you that, Eureka is healthy sense of competition. Still, Eureka would not disappear from the map or the popular consciousness for long.
