Currently ensconced in the Peabody Hotel, Little Rock. It must have ducks here as well, even though that tradition started in Memphis. I was happy with the duckling-shaped soap though. In better taste than, say, comped pate when you walk in the door.
Last night, I ate at one of the better restaurants in Little Rock, Nu. The menu was blissfully free of catfish or any other bottom feeders, but did have fresh fish. The interior was a little too South Beach for my tastes--I, for one, would not be opposed to limiting the use of white leather banquettes outside of Florida--but the food was some of the best I've had in the region. All the more impressive considering it was real restaurant food, not in the fried chicken or grits vein. They also seem to host weekly fashion shows. Tragically, this week it was a show for jeans.
Please, if they open another one of these restaurants, can they call it Gnu?
Also, they serve some kind of drink with a little blue light in it, or a glow stick, or something. Is this a nationwide trend?
